SILK CARE GUIDE
WASHING YOUR SILK PIECE
1/ Hand Wash your silk piece, one piece at a time, in cold water (20° maximum). Wash it by squeezing it gently (without ever rubbing it).
Don't soak too long, 3-5 minutes is enough. Then rinse the dress in cold water with a few drops of white vinegar added to get rid of detergent residue.
2/ Use a gentle detergent that does not contain bleaches, softeners or detergents.
Prefer a liquid detergent instead of powder detergents (which sometimes contain bleaches), or better your shampoo.
3/ Do not put in a dryer, do not spin. Instead, dry flat and put the piece between 2 towels. Then hang it and let it air dry.
4/ If necessary, finish by lightly ironing inside out, using only steam to avoid any marks. It is important to keep the temperature low and to iron when the piece is still humide.
5/ Dry cleaning is possible with a professional and recommended in case of stains.
STORAGE TIP: Always store your silk garments in a cool, dry place to protect them from moths. For added protection, slip them into a breathable cotton bag or garment bag, and use cedar balls.
