SILK CARE GUIDE
6 KEY RULES TO MAKE YOUR SILK CLOTHES LAST LONGER
DO NOT MACHINE WASH YOUR SILK, PREFER HAND WASHING
Silk is a noble and delicate material, it is important to avoid friction and heat in order to maintain its shiny and soft appearance.
So wash your silk piece by hand or at a professional dry cleaning, but do not use your washing machine.
When washing by hand, it is also preferable to apply light pressure rather than rubbing the material.
KEEP IT FROM HEAT
Avoid any heat source, it could alter the color and appearance of the fabric.
When hand washing, use water at a maximum of 20°.
USE A GENTLE LAUNDRY DETERGENT WITHOUT BLEACHES
In order to protect the color of your silk piece, it is recommended to use a gentle detergent, without bleaching agents.
For this, avoid powder laundry detergent and prefer a gentle liquid detergent or better, your shampoo.
DO NOT LET SOAK
When washing, 3-5 minutes is enough to soak the fabric. Leaving your silk in the water for too long could tarnish the fabric.
AIR-DRYING
Silk pieces may shrink or fade with the use of a dryer. Instead, dry flat between two towels to absorb excess water, then hang the item on a round hanger to air dry, away from direct sunlight.
GO TO A PROFESSIONAL IN CASE OF STAINS ON YOUR SILK
In the event of a stain, take your silk piece to the dry cleaners for a dry cleaning, so as not to damage it by using detergent products or by rubbing too intensely.
